Dear Colleagues,

we invite you warmly to participate in the 11 International Conference „Synanthropization of flora and vegetation”, which will be held at the Faculty of Biology of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań on 11-13 September 2014.

This consecutive conference of the cycle dedicated to the anthropogenic transformations of plant cover will refer to the meetings held in Viničky & Sátoraljaújhely (1994), Tokaj (1996), Zemplinska Širava (1998), Kraków (2000), Uzhgorod & Kostryno (2002), Danišovce (2004, 2012), Tarcal (2006), Katowice & Siewierz (2008) and Kamyanets Podilskiy & Boyany (2010).

In the first day of the conference, we wish to dedicate a plenary session to the deceased 10 years ago Prof. dr hab. Janusz B. FALIŃSKI – an outstanding Polish geobotanist and co-originator of the theory of synanthropization of plant cover.

During successive sessions we will concentrate on the following issues:

  • anthropogenic transformations of flora and vegetation,
  • plant variability and microevolution in human-influenced ecosystems,
  • process and mechanisms of plant extinction and invasion.

In the third day of the conference, we invite you to the field session conducted in the Noteć Forest area, situated between the Warta and Noteć valleys.
